General

General – Allows you to configure some general miscellaneous settings in Spam Bully.

a.)    Mark all spam as read – (Outlook Express Hotmail, IMAP Only.  For POP accounts this is setup in the Spam Bully message rule) Allows new incoming spam messages to be marked as already being read.

b.)    Mark known spam as read – (Outlook Only) Allows new incoming spam messages to be marked as already being read that are in your Spammers list, Blocked Languages, or Blocked Countries list.

c.)    Bounce mail from known spammers –  Automatically bounces email from spammers that appear in your Spammers list.

d.)    Punish known spammers – Loads the web pages in a spam email message a certain number of times.  Since nothing is being bought from these visits it could minimally increase the bandwidth costs to the spammer without any increase in revenue.

e.)    Automatically add any email that passes the filter to the Friends list – Adds any email that makes it through the filter to the Friends list.  Helps reduce false positives.

f.)     Add outgoing senders to Friends list - This will add any users that you send email to your Friends list.  Highly recommended as it limits false positives with no additional increase in false negatives.

g.)    Process unread mail when starting – (Outlook Only) This is primarily recommended for Exchange accounts or other types of mail accounts that Spam Bully doesn’t automatically process when the email client is started.

h.)    Move message on Not Spam button press – Allows you to set whether you want Spam Bully to move messages to the Inbox when the “Not Spam” button is pressed.  Many users checking IMAP and Exchange type accounts prefer the messages are not moved from their current folder when these buttons are pressed.

i.)      Move message on Spam button press – Allows you to set whether you want Spam Bully to move messages to the Spam folder when the “Spam” button is pressed.  Many users checking IMAP and Exchange type accounts prefer the messages are not moved from their current folder when these buttons are pressed.

j.)      Bayesian filter spam threshold (WARNING: for advanced users only) – This is an adjustment for the Bayesian filter sensitivity.  It is highly recommended you do not change this unless you are an advanced user familiar with the use of Bayesian filters.

k.)   Disable Spam Filter – This will disable Spam Bully.  This can be useful in diagnosing issues with Spam Bully conflicting with other computer programs.

l.)      Restore all defaults - This option restores the default settings for spam bully's configure menu.
