A Newsletter is being miscategorized as spam. How do I fix it?

The first step is to see why a message was or wasn't moved to the Spam folder.  There is a button in Spam Bully called "Email Details".  Email Details will explain why a message was categorized the way it was.  This will help you determine what adjustments need to be made to SpamBully to correct this.

(NOTE: Email Details must be selected BEFORE hitting the Spam or Not Spam buttons to understand why a message was miscategorized)

Newsletters sometimes are incorrectly categorized as spam.  This is usually because they don't follow the same patterns as your regular email.  There are a few ways to correct this.

1. If the message always comes from the same user or domain, consider adding the user or domain to your Allow list.  The easiest way to do this is by selecting the message and clicking the "Not Spam" button.  You can also add the entire domain by using the CTRL- Not Spam button and selecting add entire domain to the Allow list.

2. Sometimes, messages come in from several sources and it is not possible just to make the user or domain a friend.  In this case, many messages have a specific phrase added to the subject or body of every message.  We have a feature called the Allow list.  Select the Allow/Block list button.  Add the word or phrase that is always used to your Allow list.

3.  Finally you can retrain your filter.  Use this as a last resort, but it may help particularly if you have a lot of messages that are miscategorized.  See this link for more information.  http://www.spambully.com/sb2help/index.php?page=index_v2&id=63&c=7
